From Rose's birth in 1586, people admired her exceptional beauty. However, she knew she was not called to marriage. This angered her parents, but Rose eventually joined the Third Order of Saint Dominic. She lived at home, selling embroidery and flowers to support her family and caring for the poor. Rose embraced intense penance and sacrifice; She sometimes slept only two hours to free more time for prayer.
