Originally from Scotland, Patrick was kidnapped by pirates at only 14 and enslaved as a shepherd in Ireland. There, Patrick's faith grew. He prayed in the woods and on the mountains, day and night. Patrick converted thousands, performed many miracles, and popularly used the shamrock to explain the Trinity. Feast Day: March 17 Patronage: Engineers, Ireland, Shepherds
