Born in France, Louis de Montfort became a priest in 1700. He travelled across France, preaching and encouraging others to develop a deep love for the Blessed Mother. Louis wrote hymns and books (including True Devotion to Mary and The Secret of the Rosary) and founded a company of priests who led Marian's missions and retreats.
