Born in Spain in 1902, Josemaría Escrivá founded Opus Dei, an organization which emphasizes that all of us are called to sainthood and can strive for holiness in the everyday, no matter what our state in life. Sometimes, God's hand was evident in Escrivá's life. In 1954, he was miraculously cured of diabetes, which he had suffered from for many years. Escriva became a central figure in 20th-century Catholicism.Feast Day: June 26 Patronage:Diabetics Job Seekers Ordinary Life
