In 1830, Our Lady appeared three times to Catherine Labouré, then a novice with the Daughters of Charity in Paris. She asked Catherine to create a medal depicting one of the apparitions, in which Our Lady stands on a globe, rays of light shining from her hands, surrounded by twelve stars and other symbols. Known today as the Miraculous Medal, it invites people to invoke Our Lady's intercession. St. Catherine's body remains incorrupt.
